Genesis

Genesis is the upmarket and more performance oriented partner brand of Ridgeback. They are best known for their UK specific, and progressive, often experimental bike designs with very high specification. As with Ridgeback, 'UK specific' means these bikes are made for our particular cycling conditions, instead of according to an international one-size-fits-all formula. Genesis are especially known for leading the welcome revival of steel framed bikes across several categories including MTBs, gravel, road and urban bikes.

Bike class explained

Performance denotes a class of bike built for speed. Be it road, mountain or gravel, these bikes will be, with no compromise, the sportiest in their category and price band, pared down and stripped to the essentials.

Adventure represents the class for travelling, touring and trekking. Performance oriented, but generally not made for competition. Well equipped, or specified to accept equipment for lots of adventures.

Recreation is the class for leisure cycling – nothing competitive or too extreme, just relaxed cycling for the sheer fun of it.

Utility is the class of bikes that do all the work – commuting, shopping, carrying cargo or kids, they are generally very well equipped.
